We all personally have an impact on our environment. I have seen how the human impact on our environment can impact our health. For me personally, I have gone from living alone to having my own family of five. I have seen and been disgusted by how much garbage can add up in just one day amongst five people. I have done several things to diminish the garbage we throw out. Such as, using a refillable container for our Keurig, buying a pur water filter instead of buying bottled water, recycling every week, and using reusable drink containers for work instead of paper coffee cups or plastic water bottles.
     I have learned that there are many things we can do to help prevent ourselves from getting hurt or injured. Most of the time it comes down to being smart, vigilant, and prepared as much as possible. Bad things happen and that can't be avoided but we can do things to diminish the risk. When it comes to aging well, I believe it all starts with changing now. While most people under 40 can still change the way their lives will turn out. Each day is a new day and another chance for a better today and tomorrow.
     I enjoyed looking up articles for this course. It was nice to give my opinions an knowledge on certain topics with evidence to back it up. It was certainly a problem relying on other students to comply with the directions and respond to the separate discussions. If a student didn't respond within a certain time period, the professor should have responded. If only to allow the student to earn their grade. I was penalized because no one responded to my posting until 6pm the last day it was due. Also, The using my postings on separate days to account for attendance is ridiculous! This is an online course, one that is usually taken because it allows for the student to do the work on their own time. If I only have 2 days that I can do and turn in work, then so be it...If the work is done and on time, within your time frame, then what is the problem? It takes time to write a discussion post and respond, intelligently and thoughtfully, to others postings. So if I only have one day to get my posting done and 1 other to respond to my own and others, then I shouldn't be penalized for it, if it is on time.
     I have played the game. I have done my work to the best of my abilities. Thank you for teaching this course and offering extra credit. I wish you well in the future.
